Alternative uses For Executive Coaching/Anger Management

Anger management coaching, based on the four popular domains of emotional intelligence, is being effectively used for marriage and divorce relationship/mediation issues. Anger Management/Executive Coaching was originally developed by Anderson & Anderson™ for use in the assessment and intervention of JCAHO defined “disruptive physicians”.

Individual Executive Coaching/Anger Management clients are beginning to request couple coaching for skill enhancement, in self-awareness, self-control (anger management), social awareness and relationship management. These are the four domains of emotional intelligence and do not denote psychopathology or marital conflict. Mental Health Professionals who discover that their clients are exhibiting deficits in self-control, stress management, empathy or assertive communication are referring these patients for this new non-psychological intervention of Executive Coaching/Anger Management.

Couples seen in dyad Emotional Intelligence Coaching are each evaluated using the same comprehensive instruments that are used with individual coachees. The same client workbooks, DVDs and ancillary skill enhancement material used for individual clients are being successfully used with couples.

Many of these clients are casualties of marriage counseling or psychotherapy. In contrast to counseling or psychotherapy, coaching for emotional intelligence or anger management does not carry the same stigma currently experience by those who are patients being treated for Nervous or Mental Disorders. Rather, it is a skilled-based intervention designed to enhance emotional intelligence.

Quite Frankly George Anderson Is THE Anger Management Guru

What comes to mind when you think of anger management? Some would describe anger management as a method to control one’s emotions. Others, like me, would think of Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler in the motion picture film Anger Management. Until recently, there was no right answer. Anger Management was just a term thrown around, and clearly, no one knew what it was. That was until George Anderson and his team of associates not only defined the term, but set the standard. Since then, Mr. Anderson and his team have never looked back.

Still never heard of them, eh? The Anderson & Anderson program is internationally renowned, and, currently, they are the largest provider of certified Anger Management Facilitator training in the world. George Anderson and his ideals have been featured in the New York Times, the Baltimore Sun News, the Toronto Sun News, ESPN, the Los Angeles Times Magazine, NBC’s Starting Over, the Chicago Tribune, Entertainment Weekly, the London Sunday Times, BBC, and many more. Along with his lifetime of accolades, Mr. Anderson shed his knowledge on Hollywood when he served as a technical consultant on the well-known green lit film, Anger Management. By now I’m sure you are starting to see the big picture. Some of L.A.’s most elite make the drive down Wilshire Boulevard, proving that the Anderson & Anderson business model is one of L.A.’s most untapped resources.

Affiliates of Anderson & Anderson are popping up all over the internet like chicken pox. Don’t believe me? Take a look for yourself. Currently there are over 75 web sites affiliated with the Anderson & Anderson business model and their merchandise. Quietly, Mr. Anderson has become the godfather in a relatively unchartered industry. He has certified trainers mentored personally by himself all over the world, in countries like Argentina and London. Over time the business mogul of 12301 Wilshire Boulevard has set the bar as the most prominent anger management provider of the world, quite frankly in an industry that Mr. Anderson defined himself. So maybe next time when you think anger management, you will think Anderson & Anderson.

Anger Management is Emotional Intelligence in Practice

Since its introduction by Daniel Goleman and others, emotional intelligence has been used primarily in Fortune 500 Corporations to improve performance, increase sales and enhance leadership skills.

Joshua Freedman and his organization, Six Seconds, expanded the reach of emotional intelligence into grade schools and small organizations. In addition, Freedman began training and certifying providers worldwide to provide EI Assessments and Intervention.

Anger management and Executive Coaching/Anger Management for "disruptive physicians" is now one of the largest practice sources for skill enhancement in emotional intelligence worldwide. Emotional intelligence is a powerful intervention for motivated participants. Unfortunately, there are few resources for interested individuals to take advantage of this life changing resource. Ideally, EI should be made available to everyone just like counseling or psychotherapy. The purpose is not to treat emotional problems but rather to enhance skills in the wide range of areas that are the domain of emotional intelligence.

Anger management uses non-psychiatric assessments designed to determine the participants' level of functioning in recognizing and managing anger and stress, as well as increasing competence in assertive communication and empathy/emotional intelligence.

Goleman’s four domains of emotional intelligence are all key components of the anger management model described above. The four domains of EQ are: self-awareness, self-control, social-awareness and relationship management. Skills in these four domains are enhanced by client workbooks, exercises, quizzes, role play, as well ad DVDs, CDs and other ancillary training material.

Organizational Anger Management is now being used in business and industry. Human Resource Managers have surpassed Courts in referring "disruptive" employees to anger management classes. Prisons, Jails, Schools, as well as Offices of Judicial Affairs, are referring participants to anger management classes which use emotional intelligence as its core components. In summary, emotional intelligence-based anger management programs are rapidly becoming the biggest providers of EI skill enhancement worldwide.

Social Awareness and Relationship Management Are Antidotes to Unhealthy Anger

The four domains of emotional intelligence are self-awareness and self-control, social awareness and relationship management. These skill sets are the keys to competence in emotional intelligence. Most credible anger management programs are based on emotional intelligence.

These competencies determine how we handle relationships.
  • Social awareness: Awareness of others' feelings needs and concerns.
  • Understanding Others: Sensing others' feelings and perspectives and taking an active interest in their concerns.
  • Developing others: Sensing others' development needs and encouraging their abilities.
  • Service orientation: Anticipating, recognizing and meeting customers' needs.
  • Leveraging diversity: Cultivating opportunities through different kinds of people.
  • Political awareness: Reading a group's emotional currents and power relationships.
  • Relationship Management: Adeptness at inducing desirable responses in others.
  • Communication: Listening openly and sending convincing messages.
  • Conflict Management: Negotiating and resolving disagreements.
  • Change Catalyst: Initiating or managing change.
  • Building bonds: Nurturing instrumental relationships.
  • Collaboration and cooperation: Working with others towards shared goals.
  • Team capabilities: Creating group synergy in pursuing collective goals.
  • Influence: Wielding effective tactics for persuasion.
  • Leadership: Inspiring and guiding individuals and groups.

For motivated participants, all of the above skills can be learned and enhanced with practice. For Executive Coaching/Anger Management Coachees, enhancement techniques are offered in all of these areas.

JCAHO "Disruptive Physician" Rulings Have Spawned a Cottage Industry of Bogus Providers

The Joint Commission (‘disruptive physician’) rulings have spawned a cottage industry of anger management centers and law firms defending hospitals or physicians.

On-line anger management classes, as well as hypnosis, anger addiction counseling, psychiatric treatment and Christian self-help groups, are being marketed on the Internet as treatment/cure facilities for "disruptive physicians". Unsuspecting or unmotivated physicians are shopping to find the cheapest, rather than the most comprehensive or effective, programs.

Hospital administrators, physician well-being committees and physician health programs are handicapped by a lack of an understanding or standards for intervention programs appropriate for "disruptive physicians".

The two largest and most credible programs for disruptive physicians are the PACE Program at the University of California at San Diego and the Distressed Physician Program at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Both of these programs are provided in a small group format consisting of 8 participants or less and are limited to 32 persons per year. Both programs are already filled through December of 2009.

Currently, the most successful "disruptive physician" intervention is one that includes a comprehensive non-psychiatric assessment based on emotional intelligence rather than personality disorders or psychopathology. Such assessments include scales on self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, self-esteem, interpersonal assertion, stress management, communication, leadership, anger management and motivation to change. This intervention is provided by Anderson & Anderson, A.P.C., the provider of Executive Coaching/Anger Management for "disruptive physicians".

Following the assessment, feedback is given and the physician is given two client workbooks and one DVD that include skill enhancement information in the areas in which he or she scored in the deficit range. The first 12 hours of intervention can take place on-site anywhere in the United States over a two- day period or, on a weekly basis if provided in Los Angeles.

Follow-up/Aftercare is provided via phone sessions on a bi-monthly basis over a six -month period. Post- tests are provided at three months and six months. As needed sessions are available when requested.

Executive Coaching/Anger Management For High Profile Clients

Anger is a normal human emotion that is secondary to stress, anxiety, depression or some other primary emotion. Anger is not a pathological disorder. Therefore, it is not listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental and Nervous Disorders (DSM-IV). According to the American Psychiatric Association, anger is a lifestyle issue and not in the domain of mental illness.

There are five signs that anger is problematic in a person’s life:

·When anger is too frequent.
·When anger is too intense.
·When anger last too long.
·When anger leads to person or property directed aggression.
·When anger destroys relationships.

The current recession is unprecedented in its impact on persons from all professional and occupational groups. For high-income groups such as physicians, attorneys, entertainers and executives, loss of income and or status triggers stress, depression, anger and often person-directed aggression.

For the first time in the history of executive coaching or anger management, the number of volunteer and mandated referrals are coming from H.R. Managers, risk management professionals and physician well-being committees nationwide. Previously, most referrals for anger management came from courts and the criminal justice system.

As high status persons experience the positive effects on the skill enhancement components of executive coaching/anger management, they refer or recommend coaching for colleagues, direct reports or family members. Word of mouth referrals are off the charts.

The critical factors which account for the effectiveness of Executive Coaching are its comprehensive non-psychiatric assessments which are all based on the four domains of emotional intelligence which include: Self-awareness, Self-Control, Social-Awareness and Relationship-Management.

The Anderson & Anderson model of Executive Coaching/Anger Management was developed specifically for high profile clients in which confidentiality and individual attention is paramount. Since this is an intervention, which is available on-site, nationwide, it has rapidly become the preferred resource for physicians and attorneys and other high profile clients.

Co-occurring Anger/disruptive Behavior With Stress, Depression or Anxiety

Co morbidity means two or more diseases or conditions existing together in an individual. While anger is not a diagnosable mental disorder, like anxiety, depression or stress, it is frequently a symptom or condition that exist with some psychiatric disorders.

Often, anger arises out of the frustrating and debilitating forces associated with other psychiatric conditions such as bipolar disorder or attention deficit hyperactive disorder. A short fuse or propensity to anger is one of the more common symptoms. In my opinion, prisons are filled with men who were never diagnosed or treated for many of these conditions such as the lack of self-control/anger management.

Although research is just beginning to support the idea of a “male-based depression,” it is possible that men may instead express their depression in terms of increases in fatigue, irritability and anger (sometimes with personal or property directed aggression), loss of interest in work or hobbies, and sleep disturbances. The symptom list that appears in the DSM –IV may be more typical for women.

Men who suffer from high blood pressure with anger and anxiety are more likely to suffer heart attacks or strokes. This can happen when the blood pressure rises too high often and stays above normal levels for prolonged periods.

Anxiety attacks brought on by anger and anxiety issues have the same symptoms as the onset of a heart attack. This will leave the person feeling as if they are having a heart attack. In this case, it is always best to seek medical help with an anxiety or panic attack to make sure it isn’t an actual heart attack.

Stress, anger, hostility and depression join together to form a picture of a process leading to, heart disease, asthma, diabetes and many other illnesses.

In summary, while anger is not a pathological condition, it is a powerful and common symptom of depression, anxiety and other psychiatric disorders which needs to be taken serious and addressed.

Anger Management Guru Expands On-site Organizational Anger Management Training

In response to the current epidemic in workplace anger, George Anderson, Anger Management Guru and Executive Director of Anderson & Anderson, A.P.C., has increased his training faculty in order to address this crisis. The Anderson & Anderson model of anger management is the industry standard worldwide.

Workplace anger reduces productivity and leads to an increase in sick day usage, accidents, and losses on investments. The risk of employee litigation relative to hostile work environments increases an organization's liability.

The current state of the economy, with layoffs and a reduced workforce, has increased tension and anger, and has led to aggressive behavior at work. The purpose of this training is to serve as a pro-active intervention to prevent workplace tension, aggression and or conflict.

Effective immediately, Anderson & Anderson will offer its Organizational Anger Management Program, on-site nationwide. The Anderson & Anderson intervention is designed for use with small groups of 10 to 25 participants.

The four hour training begins with an 18 item emotional intelligence/anger management assessment, which is designed to determine the employees’ level of functioning in recognizing and managing anger, recognizing and managing stress, primary and secondary styles of communication and empathy/emotional intelligence.

Each participant will receive a client workbook, "Gaining Control of Ourselves", with lessons and exercises on skill enhancement in anger management, stress management, communication and emotional intelligence. A companion DVD covering the same topics is given to each participant for use in mastering the skills in the client workbook.

During this four- hour training, facilitator-lead discussions on anger management, stress management, communication and emotional intelligence will be offered. Finally, phone consultation is offered to each participant over a three month period.

The staff at Anderson & Anderson are prepared to answer any questions that anyone may have about this program.

How Do We Define Listening?

Which activity involves the most amount of listening? Students spend 20 percent of all school related hours just listening. If television watching and one-half of conversations are included, students spend approximately 50 percent of their waking hours just listening. For those hours spent in the classroom, the amount of listening time can be almost 100 percent. Look at your own activities, especially those related to college, continuing education or any other formal training. Are most of your activities focused around listening, especially in the classroom?

If you ask a group of anger management students to give a one word description of listening, some would say hearing; however, hearing is physical. Listening is following and understanding the sound---it is hearing with a purpose. Good listening is built on three basic skills: attitude, attention, and adjustment. These skills are known collectively as "Triple-A" listening.

Listening is the absorption of the meanings of words and sentences by the brain. Listening leads to the understanding of facts and ideas. But listening takes attention, or sticking to the task at hand in spite of distractions. It requires concentration, which is the focusing of your thoughts upon one particular problem. A person who incorporates listening with concentration is actively listening. Active listening is a method of responding to another that encourages communication. Communication is one of the four components of anger management skill enhancement.

Listening is a very important skill, especially for anger management group facilitators. Many anger management facilitators tend to talk too much during a class. This defeats the purpose of anger management classes, which is to allow students to learn by discussion focused on the content in the anger management workbook. Rather than turning the session into a mini-lecture, tutors must actively listen and encourage their students to become active learners. Giving a student your full attention is sometimes difficult because you start to run out of time, or you find yourself thinking about your next question; however, the time you spend actively listening to your student will result in a quality tutoring session.

Lic. Bernardo Stamateas, Argentine Psychologist and Minister Completes the Anderson & Anderson Facilitator Certification Process

After a very successful tutorial in anger management facilitation, internationally renowned psychologist and minister, Dr. Bernardo Stamateas, has decided to joint venture with Anderson & Anderson in introducing the Anderson & Anderson Anger Management Curriculum in Argentina. Dr. Stamateas and his organization, la Fundación “Volver a Empezar” (Starting Over Foundation), will be authorized to translate all of the Anderson & Anderson publications into Spanish for sale in Argentina. Anderson & Anderson will begin offering certification training in Spanish in Argentina under the sponsorship of Dr. Stamateas.

Dr. Stamateas arrived at the Anderson & Anderson headquarters in the Brentwood neighborhood district of Los Angeles, California on May 25, 2009 to begin the training with George Anderson, BCD, LCSW. One of the Anderson & Anderson staff members, and a Los Angeles-based anger management facilitator who was trained by George Anderson during the May 6-8 training, provided assitance in translating from English to Spanish between Dr. Stamateas and Mr. Anderson. The training was provided over a four-day period, and included the following: Adolescent-group related facilitator certification; Adult-group related facilitator certifcation; advanced anger management, which involves a more comprehensive review of the concept of emotional intelligence; and Motivational Interviewing, which involves the enhancement of the group-learning process.

As an experienced psychologist in Argentina, Dr. Stamateas, or Lic. Stamateas, as he is professionally known in Argentina, has already written many psychology books that are related to his practice and the subject matter he addresses. These books include "Emociones Toxicas" (Poisonous Emotions), "Gente Toxica" (The Poisonous People), and "Autoboicot" (Autoboycott).

This training experience is a newly found endeavor for Anderson & Anderson, as George Anderson has never trained any professional based in Argentina. Anderson & Anderson and la Fundación “Volver a Empezar” plan to maintain a strong working relationship, in the effort to expand the use of the Anderson & Anderson curriculum worldwide.

Non-Pathological Anger

Anger is one of the most misunderstood human emotions. In spite of popular opinion, anger is not a mental or psychiatric disorder. According to the American Psychiatric Association, anger is a lifestyle issue. Therefore, anger is not listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Nervous and Mental Disorders.

Anger is often a symptom of a wide range of medical and mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, dementia, organic brain disorders, as well as chemical dependency. This reality may account for the public’s lack of understanding of what anger is and what the appropriate interventions may be to help one manage his or her anger.

If anger is not an illness, then it stands to reason that there is no illness to treat. Therefore, medication, psychiatric treatment, psychotherapy or counseling is neither appropriate nor useful.

Anger is a normal human emotion. Anger is the response to a perceived threat or invalidation. It is a signal to mobilize one’s biological and emotional resources to respond to this perceived threat.

Anger is a learned behavior. Any behavior that is learned can be unlearned. This fact offers a solution to appropriate interventions for useless anger.

While anger is a normal human emotion, it is unhealthy, inappropriate and needless under the following situations:

·When it is too intense
·When it occurs too frequently
·When it last too long
·When it impacts health
·When it destroys work or personal relationships
·When it leads to person or property directed aggression

Given the fact that anger is neither a mental disorder nor a medical illness, intervention programs must be based on strategies designed to teach enhancement skills in self-awareness, self-control, social-awareness and relationship management. These four skill sets are the four domains of emotional intelligence.

The most effective anger management classes/coaching must begin with a non-psychiatric/psychological assessment to determine the participants’ level of functioning in the following areas: anger management, stress management, assertive communication and empathy/emotional intelligence. Following skill enhancement classes/coaching in these areas, a Post-test should be given to determine the success or lack or success of the anger management program.

The most widely recognized curriculum using this model of intervention is the Anderson & Anderson Anger Management program. This model is used throughout the United States, Canada and most English speaking countries. It is the industry standard worldwide.

Easy Marketing Clickbank Affiliate Deals Online

Sunday, May 31, 2009 23:02

Many ways known to promote and market products online easily found online, and many ways can be also in books and articles offline. Promoting products online is a kind of a business that can sky rocket your income, especially if you are promoting services, info products or systems as an affiliate, but you need first to realize the know-how. First you have to educate yourself with basic tools required and start building your online career and develop it till you reach your target.

I’m sharing here some useful ways in this post about marketing online, whether you are an affiliate marketer for info products or tangible items like used laptops, the below highlighted ways will help you achieve the required marketing goals if you invest good time doing it.

Start with a daily updated blog

Starting a healthy-daily updated blog is obviously a good start and one of the easy starts that you can do. If you know this or not blogging the easiest most effective way of online marketing and maybe the cheapest one too. Bloging Activities are simply writing good articles relevant to your promos and posting them period. The money generating part is either ads or hyperlinks pointing to what the readers want to know or buy. Of course, you need to promote your blog too via Social networking and social bookmarking sites to make some targeted traffic.

Recording promotional videos

Easier than what you think, videos made using a webcam or a simple home use camcoder is really effective and even sometimes screen shots taken from your screen can be used as promotional material, think of making a powerpoint presentation on your screen while recording your screen using a special software for this like (Camtasia) to make videos.

Then simply post the video you’ve recorded on youtube or any online video broadcasting services marketing and demonstrating your product, service or software to the audience.

Posting Informative Articles:

The difference between posting article content and posting content to your blod is that you have to register to article directories and submit your content then wait until the article directory approve it. This way you will have your content published on websites other than yours and you will get links to your pages from these directories for free and this is a good deal in my opinion. But remember unique content is the king here.

Another point here is that many bloggers use to pick article contents submitted to article directories and post it again in their blog keeping the reference of course to the author’s website and …bingo… , more readers to their blogs get you more visitors to your site once they click on the author’s name or link.

Post Classified ads.:

Online classified ads and column ads are good options for product promotion especially for local services or products that can help locals. Many websites gives classified ads on their content pages and they have a lot of traffic checking these classified ads everyday looking for products of their interest and again local classified ads are the best in case you are targeting specified areas.

Pay per Click

Also known as PPC and in my opinion PPC is one of the most effective ways of promotion but there is a trade off 1st it’s quite costly and 2nd it requires some optimization knowledge in order to keep and maintain the required return on investment. The key is to monitor your ppc campaigns closely and always keep an eye on cost and budget otherwise you will pay more than your profits.

Partner with Affiliates

Hey why not find a heavy weight partner, if you can’t beat them, join them. This kind of joint forces creates momentum adn makes it easier to grow and faster to achieve once all set and done in the right way.

All the above mentioned ways requires tons of research that consume a lot of time in order not to get in a trial and error phase and reach a frustration before seeing any results.

Finally I would like to give you an advice, a lot of programs and products that provide excellent couching available online that could really help you market your products and services and I usually write reviews for those programs that I personally use, more information about the latest one review of clickbank affiliate blueprints here.

Anderson & Anderson Anger Management/Civility Coaching for Attorneys

Anderson & Anderson, the nationally and internationally recognized provider of Anger Management, is now incorporating “civility” in its Executive Coaching program for attorneys. This coaching model is based on civility training that George Anderson provided to 30 attorneys at the Profit Loss and Research Bureau in Chicago, Illinois.

The legal profession is beginning to address the decline of civility by imposing training in civility/anger management for attorneys. Anderson & Anderson, A.P.C. was the first to conduct Emotional Intelligence/Civility for Attorneys in the state of Illinois. This training was conducted for 30 attorneys at the Profit Loss and Research Bureau in Chicago.

Anderson & Anderson is now offering Executive Coaching/Anger Management for attorneys experiencing stress, burnout or "disruptive behavior". While anger is a normal human emotion, there is no justification for incivility in the legal profession.

Their coaching model consists of non-psychiatric assessments designed to determine the level of functioning in 13 domains, including: self-awareness, interpersonal assertion, interpersonal aggression, stress management, empathy, time management, leadership, motivation and self-esteem.

The Anderson & Anderson new client workbook, The Practice of Control, contains exercises and lessons used to coach attorneys in skill enhancement in all of the areas mentioned above. This curriculum was featured in a two part documentary entitled "Losing It" on the British Broadcasting Channel.

All of their coaching is provided on a confidential individual basis with follow-up phone sessions. This service is provided on-site anywhere in the nation. Please call their office at 310-207-3591 for more information.
