Anderson & Anderson Coaching Staff Expanded to Meet Demand

Physicians nationwide are frantically seeking credible programs for help in addressing “disruptive physician” behavior. Most University based programs, such as the PACE program at the University of California in San Diego and Vanderbilt's Distressed Physician program, are over subscribed with waiting lists going into 2009.

Traditional counseling and psychotherapy are not really appropriate or useful for skill enhancement in managing anger, a person's style of communication and emotional intelligence. In addition, physicians are being advised by their legal counselors to avoid interventions that imply the presence of psychiatric impairment.

The American Psychiatric Association has appropriately determined that anger, which is the key factor in “disruptive behavior”, is a lifestyle issue rather than a mental or nervous disorder. Consequently, non-psychiatric assessments and intervention are more appropriate and more consistent with the new JCAHO "disruptive physician" guidelines.

Anderson & Anderson offers its Executive Coaching/Anger Management Program in its Brentwood office (Los Angeles ) seven days a week.
